Drawing means creating signs that point to something outside of the drawing and outside of the drawer, possibly even outside of the conscious world. Images were created long before the written word and have their origin in deeper layers of the human mind.
SENSOGRAPH - UNLEASHING CREATIVITY
With the Sensograph, a drawing device developed by the artist, drawing is largely unaffected by the censorship of thinking in words. It evolves spontaneaously according to its own laws. Metaphorically speaking, the technique of Automatic Drawing circumvents the barriers between the conscious and the unconscious. As an artistic tool for transferring content, images, and thoughts across these barriers, it unleashes human creativity in a unique way.
